Dearest Family and Friends,
As we have reflected on this year, we are humbled by all of
the wonderful things we have been blessed with. It has been a great year and we
have so much to be thankful for.
Greg (41)- Greg has now worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car for
eight years. He works as a Revenue Manager at the corporate office, here in St.
Louis. He is at the office twice a week and then works from home three days a
week. It has been a tremendous blessing for our family. Greg likes being the Primary
Chorister and being part of our ward choir. Recently he joined a men’s workout
group in our community and has also loved being a part of that. We enjoyed some
fun trips this year including: Utah (twice), Arkansas for our nephew’s
farewell, and Long Beach, Mississippi to finally experience the beach!
Haley (41)- After a lot of praying and pondering, we felt
that it was right for me to go back to work this year. I started working as a
Pre-K teacher back in August. It is a blessing that I am only working while the kids
are at school, but it has still been quite the adjustment for me. Hannah
attends the school with me, so it has really been the ideal situation for us.
It has been really nice to live close to my parents because we get to see so
many of my siblings. This year we had a Sisters Retreat and then all of my
siblings came for my dad’s 80th birthday!
Emily (13)- Emily is in 8th grade. She loves to
be involved at school. This past year she ran on the Cross Country team, participated
in the school’s Art Club and joined the indoor soccer team. She is also part of
the school band, even though she plays the violin! She enjoys being part of the
youth group in our ward. This year she attended Girls Camp, went to the temple
multiple times, went spelunking, hiking, rock climbing and even had an
etiquette dinner. She’s a fun girl to have around!
Leslie (10)- Leslie is in 5th grade. This year
Leslie started taking piano from a sister at church and she has really loved
it. She took swim lessons early last year and thoroughly enjoyed swimming in
our neighborhood pool over the summer. In the spring she played soccer and had
a lot of fun doing that. She also sang with her elementary school at her first
Cardinals game. She is a good student and a great helper!
Abby (9)- Abby is in 4th grade. Abby loves
animals, so we made sure to go to the St. Louis Zoo, Lone Elk Park, the Wolf
Fest and the Endangered Wolf Center this year. She also took swim lessons and played
soccer. She loved swimming with confidence all summer. We went to various
creeks and splash pads over the summer as well, which she really enjoyed.
Caleb (7)- Caleb had his
first solo in his 1st grade Halloween Program at school. He is a natural
performer. Caleb has developed an interest in baseball and loves playing catch
with Greg almost every day. Caleb also took swim lessons and played soccer in
the spring. He is an active boy and loves exploring. Over the summer we went to
Fisher Cave and he really enjoyed that.
Hannah (3)- This year Hannah attended nature and music classes,
went to story time at the Library and played at lots of parks. In August she
started going to Preschool and has learned so much. It has been a big year for Hannah: she got potty trained and started going to school. She loves to sing all the songs
she knows from Preschool and enjoyed seeing Frozen at the Muny over the summer.
We are thankful for our Savior, Jesus Christ and this time
of year to reflect on His birth. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
Love,
Greg, Haley, Emily, Leslie, Abby, Caleb and Hannah Burr
