Amazing April

I am always so proud of my students who reach their reading goals. This last quarter I had 12 students get medals for reaching their goals on their comprehension tests (unfortunately two of them were absent).

Greg's birthday was on the 15th of April. He turned 27 and he got some cool gifts from me.

The cake turned out okay. It was actually homemade brownies from scratch. Our favorite!

Last weekend we had a great visit with my cousin, Anthony and his family.

My mom came to Park City, UT to have a retreat with her sisters. They came to Provo one evening for a visit. Here she is with her favorite grandchild, that is until I have a baby.

A four generation picture: grandma, mom, Ashley, and Cheyenne.

Of course we had to eat at Brick Oven when they came. There was quite a group of us including cousins, grandma, aunts, etc.

Last night we had my old roommates over for dinner and games. Jenga got pretty competitive.

We got up to 32 stories... pretty intense.

Here is the group: Serenity and her husband Bradley, me and Greg, Kami and Cynthia. Good times!

Horseshoe Bend or Bust

Since it's my Spring Break and all we decided to take a trip to Horseshoe Bend to visit my family. My brother Joel talked us into running a 5K the day after we got there. I have run a bunch of races in my day, but NOT since I've been married. This was Greg's first 5K. We ended up running it with Joel's family and my sister Cassidy. I realize that this is not a very flattering picture of us, but I want to remember the experience.

After the race, Greg and I went with my sister Cassidy to a Young Womens luncheon at the stake center. Don't we look like sisters? We have the same color hair.

It was a good time.

That night we played the wii at Joel's house. It wasn't just ANY wii... it was Dance wii. I couldn't stop laughing when I got to dance with my parents.

Ha ha

My dad really got into it...

So did my mom!

Greg let Emery (our nephew) wear his glasses. Doesn't he look so smart?

Our last day in Horseshoe Bend we went over to the high school to see my brother Dillon's artwork.

Pretty impressive.

I told Dillon and Greg to touch each other and act like friends for the picture and this is what I got out of them. Smart alecks. You can see Dillon's paper mache creature on the top of the shelf.

Livin' it up at home

Me and my parents.

Greg and my parents. It was a great trip! I bet you're all jealous.

One Year of Happiness

We thought it would be cool to go on a trip for our anniversary. That's right, we've been married one year now. So, we flew to Long Beach, CA and did some cool stuff. On Friday, April 1st, we went to Griffith's Observatory and saw all of L.A. Take a look at all that smog...

From the observatory we could see the Hollywood sign...pretty cool.

Another view from the observatory.

Here I am in front of the actual observatory. It was a beautiful day, in the 70s.

Here I am in front of the Griffith Park sign.

Here is Greg in front of the sign. Isn't he cute?

Then we drove down Hollywood Blvd. While we were looking around, we saw a huge mass of people, so we parked our car to see what was going on. This is the back of Johnny Depp. Apparently he's a pretty big deal.

Here is Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz. We didn't care a whole lot, but it was cool that we saw famous people on Hollywood Blvd.

We continued to walk down Hollywood Blvd. and got pictures by some of our role models (j/k). Here is Greg with William Primrose, a famous violinist.

Here I am with Antonio Banderas (I had a huge crush on him when I was like 14). You can see Britney Spears' star in the back corner...another idol of mine (j/k).

And of course, Sandra Bullock...

Hollywood

"Beverly Hills, that's where I wanna be..."

After driving through Beverly Hills, we went to the L.A. Temple.

It's HUGE and beautiful.

Then we drove to see 'Wicked' in the horrible L.A. traffic. I never want to live there...

Here we are after seeing 'Wicked' for the first time.

On Saturday, April 2, we saw the Queen Mary. Pretty cool.

Then we went to the beach. It was actually a little chilly.

I touched the Pacific Ocean. Now I have been to the Atlantic and the Pacific Ocean with my dear husband.

March Madness

On Saturday, February 19 we went to the Covey Arts Center in Provo to watch the Cougarettes. It was a great performance and was fun.

We had to get a Relief Society Presidency picture taken for the stake, so here we are: Dara (secretary), Courtney (2nd counselor), me (president) and Nikki (1st counselor). I work with some great women.

On Wednesday, March 2nd it was Dr. Seuss' birthday. We wore our pajamas, read Dr. Seuss books, watched a Dr. Seuss movie, and invited parents to share the party with us. This is our more serious picture...

This was supposed to be a silly picture... not very silly though.

Greg's sister, Aubry had her baby on Friday night (sorry the picture is so dark).

Jesse (the dad), Aubry (the mom) and Joel Paulie Ault. Cute family.
