Yellowstone

In May and June we've had some really beautiful days outside. We've spent a lot of time at Sherman Park here in Victor and the kids have LOVED it! Here's Emily Mazel.

Leslie Loraine

 Abigail Love

Caleb Ray

On Thursday, May 30, we took our kids on a hike in the Mike Harris campground about 5 minutes from our house. They loved being in nature and we all had a great time.

Leslie and Abby held hands the whole time. It was pretty cute.

Poor little Caleb had pink eye, but was a really good boy the entire hike.

We even got really close to a beautiful monarch butterfly.

On Friday, May 31, we took a day trip to Yellowstone.

The kids loved seeing Lewis Falls very soon after we entered the park.

3 friends

We tried to beat the crowds, but it was already getting pretty crowded at Yellowstone.

Our next stop was the West Thumb Geyser Basin.

We saw an elk.

The kids loved hearing the science behind everything from their very knowledgeable father.

After that we stopped at another waterfall and ate some lunch.

I really like waterfalls.

After lunch we drove to see Old Faithful. The anticipation was real, but totally worth it after we got to see it erupt!

We saw lots of bison while we drove through Yellowstone.

They were EVERYWHERE!

There's a coyote!

After Old Faithful we drove to see the Grand Prismatic Hot Spring.

It was really interesting and the kids loved seeing all the different colors.

Emily wrote a list of the animals we saw on our way and in Yellowstone. Pretty impressive list...even though we did not see any bears.

On our way home we made a stop to see Mesa Falls.

The waterfall is so impressive!

It's so fun to live close to so many beautiful places!

Our Little Emily

After a very harsh winter, it's finally beginning to look green around here. Victor, Idaho is a beautiful place. We are blessed to live here.

On May 17 our Emily turned 7!! We are birthday buddies since our birthdays are only two days apart. I don't know very many people who get as excited as this girl when it is their birthday!

She had a wonderful day at school and then opened some great gifts at home. Life isn't so bad when you're 7!

The school year is winding down. Last Wednesday was her Spring Concert at school. They played kazoos and everything. It was pretty cute!

The concerts are always held in the gym, but thankfully her school is only K-3 so it is always easy to find her.

At the end of the concert, there was a bunch of art on display at the back of the gym. Emily loves taking Art so much. She really has talent!

In February we signed Emily up for a Gymnastics class and she has loved every minute of it. On Wednesday she had her show and we were so proud of her.

The last few months have not been particularly easy for Emily. We moved in the middle of the school year, right before Christmas, in the dead of winter, leaving her best friend, and favorite teacher. It brought tears to my eyes to see her just bouncing around and beaming from ear to ear during the whole performance.

All of the kids got a gold medal at the end of the show. She wore hers to school the next day. In her prayer she thanked Heavenly Father that she got to be in gymnastics. She is a sweet girl. We're grateful to have her in our family.

Turning 35 and Caleb

Well, I turned 35..so I guess I'm officially an oldie but goodie. Greg made me my favorite cookie cake that I ask for every year. He is really becoming quite the expert cookie cake maker. So grateful for my 35 years of life!

As far as other news...Caleb is still really cute and we still take a lot of pictures of him. I was really proud of this picture though. I was able to capture his two teeth. He's getting so big!

Caleb in his new hat!

He just wouldn't stop smiling...

I love my baby boy!

Our Gabrielsen Visit

On Mother's Day weekend my sister Bethany's family came for a visit. We lucked out with perfect weather and had a great time!

The kids had a lot of fun playing together. Between our two families there were 9 kids!!

Including these two little friends: Toby and Caleb.

On Saturday we drove into Jackson and found some big horn sheep.

They were all along the road and even licked our van!!

My new favorite animal!

Then we drove to town square to see the antler arches.

Cousin power!

Next we went to the Grand Teton National Park to eat lunch and to see Jenny Lake. It is still partially frozen!

Greg kept saying, "We are going to come here so much this summer."

It is a very beautiful place. The kids (and Greg) had so much fun playing in the water and throwing rocks in it.

Next we went to see Jackson Lake.

We stayed just long enough to take some awesome pictures.

This is across the street from the lake. I just thought it was really pretty.

Here we are by Falls Creek Falls. Thanks for the fun visit Gabrielsens!!!
