The Beginning of 2022

During the year 2021 I did not eat any desserts. I was on a dessert diet with my sisters for an entire year. It never got easy, it was always hard for me. I was so looking forward to January 1 when I'd be able to end my diet. Finally the day came and after all of those months, the thing I wanted the very most was none other than peanut butter M&M's!

We spent the beginning of 2022 in Utah visiting the Burrs.

Our kids had a blast with their cousins.

We even got to see Grandpa and Grandma Burr, which was a real treat!

On our way back to Boise, we stopped in Bountiful to see my sister Bethany's family and my brother Justin's family.

Lots of laughs and smiles with this crew!

The adults: Paul, Haley, Justin, Bethany, Kelsey, and Greg.

Back in Idaho...the kids watching Encanto with my mom.

Leslie had a few friends over to celebrate her birthday. It was a really fun party!

We played a bunch of games with the girls, including Pin the Horn on the Unicorn that Emily made.

Leslie was one happy girl!

End of 2021

Our kids love to cuddle in the mornings.

It has become a tradition that December is the month of sickness for our family. :-(

Emily has made some great friends this year. When I look at this picture I automatically think: Baby-sitters Club!

Their 4th grade teacher is obsessed with the Magic School Bus, so for her birthday they made her one out of cardboard. I thought it was pretty impressive!

Before Christmas we went to see the lights in downtown Caldwell with Dad and Mom and Eden.

It was cold, but magical!

We came prepared and had our kids wear their snow pants, boots, hats, and gloves!

Our cute little family!

Our three girls on the Sunday before Christmas.

My brother Derek's family was here visiting before Christmas. It was really fun to see him! Our kids loved putting on a Christmas play for us. Pretty cute.

Our Christmas treat plate this year.

He said he was playing Peter and the Wolf...I guess that's what you do when you're dad is a musician.

We went and saw Christmas in Color at the Boise Fairgrounds with Derek's family. Everyone loved it!

Cute little cousins!

Leslie's Christmas ornament she made at school.

Abby's Christmas ornament she made at school.

Emily's Christmas ornament she made at school.

Abby drew this all by herself and colored it. I thought it was pretty good!

We drive around the Bay Hill neighborhood every year to see the Christmas lights. This house won first place this year. Pretty amazing!

On Christmas Eve I was 26 weeks pregnant!

All ready to eat Christmas Eve dinner!

On Christmas Day it snowed!!

On Christmas afternoon we drove up to Middleton to see my parents and my brother Dillon's family. Greg and Dillon had a lot of fun jamming together on their recorder and mandolin.

Cute little Kindergarten cousins: Ruby and Abby.

It was so great to see Dillon and Emily!

Christmas Letter 2021

Dearest Family and Friends,

As we have reflected on this year, we are humbled by all of the wonderful things we have been blessed with. It has been a great year and we have so much to be thankful for.

Greg (37)- Greg has worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car for four years now. Currently he works as a branch manager at the Boise Airport. He has learned a lot and is a very hard worker. Right now he also serves in the bishopric in our ward. Although it can be time consuming, he really enjoys serving and working with the youth. Since his job doesn’t involve music, he spends a lot of his free time playing instruments. He has collected several instruments over the last few months and loves to play them. A couple of years ago he developed an interest in astronomy. He likes to look at the stars, find planets, and look at the moon on his telescope. It’s a pretty fun activity for our entire family!

Haley (37)- The most important thing that happened to me this year was that we found out we were expecting baby #5! We are all very excited to welcome another baby girl to our family in April (or the end of March). We love girls and know Caleb will be okay with it eventually. Since January 1st I have been on a strict no dessert diet with some of my sisters. Although it has been good for my health, I am really looking forward to eating some of my favorite treats again next month! This summer we took our kids on a trip across the country to Arkansas to visit family. It was our first really long road trip with kids, but they did great and we made memories!

Emily (9)- Emily is our oldest and is in 4th grade this year. It has been a really good year for her because she got the same teacher as last year (whom she loved). She has also developed some wonderful friendships in her class. This year Emily finished reading The Book of Mormon and The Doctrine and Covenants for the first time. It was special because she worked so hard to achieve those goals. This year she took piano lessons from Greg, swim lessons at the YMCA, and played soccer. She is a very crafty and creative girl. It’s fun to have her in our family.

Leslie (6)- Leslie is in 1st grade this year. Although it was a hard adjustment going from half day Kindergarten to all day 1st grade, she loves it now and enjoys school. Right before the school year started, she lost her first tooth. She has lost several since then and has the cutest toothless smile. Leslie loves to ride her bike, jump on the trampoline, and color with her siblings. She has really blossomed in her reading this year as well. This year she took piano lessons from Greg, swim lessons at the YMCA, and played soccer. She is easy going and always quick to forgive others.

Abby (5)- Abby is in Kindergarten this year. She enjoys her teacher so much and says that she “never wants to leave her”. The highlight of every school day is when she sees her sisters on the playground or in the hallway. They love going to the same school! For one of Abby’s assignments she had to tell about a favorite family tradition. She told about how we go to the apple orchard every year. It is quite magical! This year Abby played on a soccer team for the first time. She improved a lot throughout the season and had so much fun. She is a sweet girl with a lot of spunk.

Caleb (3)- Caleb is a rambunctious 3-year-old. He is everything boy, but only has sisters. He is pretty obsessed with superheroes right now and has a different favorite every day. He loves the zoo and asks to go there frequently. He likes to jump off of things and run really fast. I often think, “I hope he doesn’t hurt himself.” Caleb is officially potty trained and we currently don’t have anyone in diapers! In October I got together with a couple of girls in our ward and we started a Preschool Co-op. It’s just a couple of days a week, but really perfect for Caleb. It has been so nice. We love having Caleb in our family. He’s adored by all of us.

We are thankful for our Savior, Jesus Christ and this time of year to reflect on His birth. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

Love,

Greg, Haley, Emily, Leslie, Abigail, and Caleb Burr

Thanksgiving Break 2021

On Monday the girls all got their first Covid shot. Other than some sore arms, they felt pretty good!

On Tuesday we had our first snowfall! The kids all insisted on going outside to play in it. It was quite magical, even though it only lasted about 20 minutes!

On Thanksgiving Emily braided everyone's hair and made them Indian feather headbands.

This year we stayed in Boise and had dinner with just our family. We have so much to be grateful for!

Our Thanksgiving dinner: rolls, corn, green bean casserole, turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, and sweet potato casserole.

The next day our family went to a trampoline park. It's always a favorite!

Caleb on the trapeze swing.

The foam pit!!

On Saturday I took the kids to the Children's Museum. They had so much fun getting dressed up and putting on a play for me.

That evening we went to see the Scentsy Christmas Lights in Boise. It was so pretty and not even very cold!

So many pretty lights!

4 little friends

Right after Thanksgiving Break Leslie lost one of her front teeth! She's getting so big!
