Viva Las Vegas

We left on Wednesday, July 20 to check out Las Vegas. We plan on moving there in the middle of August. We were happy to find out that it only took us 5.5 hours to get there from Provo AND Vegas is in a different time zone.

We stopped by UNLV to see where Greg will be going to school for the next two years. He's getting his Masters in Music Composition. Here he is in front of the Lee & Thomas Beam Music Center. I'm sure he'll be spending a lot of time in there.

Here is a better view of the building. Pretty cool. That's me, by the way.

Here is Greg in front of the concert hall where I am sure I will watch him perform.

We walked around campus for a while and ran into the Institute Building! My dad would be so proud. We went inside hung around. Every institute building looks the same.

This picture is for Joel. When he found out Greg got into UNLV he couldn't stop talking about the Thomas & Mack Center. It's under construction so we couldn't get very close. It is HUGE!! To think, Jimmer played there. We're practically famous...

We got there around 6 or 7pm and it was so hot. It is truly a desert. BUT, look at those awesome palm trees. We're excited for this adventure. Doesn't Greg look smarter ALREADY??

We were in Vegas for less than 12 hours because Greg had to go back to work. We stopped to eat at the Brick Oven in St. George on the way home. There is our awesome car beside me. We've become pretty good friends with our car after all the traveling we do. We'll become even better friends when we drive all the way to Nauvoo next week!!!

Family Fun!!

On Monday, July 4 we met up with Ashley and Ben to eat some yummy yogurt at Spoon it up. We had some nice talks and went for a fun little walk around BYU campus. I love summer nights in Provo.

Cheyenne was good the whole time. Here's proof!

The following Monday, July 11, we went bowling at the Wilk. It only cost $2/person. Cheyenne even bowled.

I'm not rubbing it in BUT the Burrs did beat the Dilsavers at bowling...

The happy couple: Greg and Haley Burr

On Saturday, July 16 we hung out with the Burrs. We celebrated Rachel's birthday by eating some KFC, playing ultimate frisbee, and relaxing up Provo Canyon. We even made this awesome pyramid.

BOTTOM: Jesse, Greg, Dad Burr, Mom Burr

The pyramid didn't last long...

Happy Summer!

I guess we got a little camera happy...

Good engagement photo, right??

I think this one is better. We're even barefoot!!

June Adventures

On Monday, June 6 we hiked Bell Canyon with Dad Burr. It has rained a ton this spring so it was a wet hike, but very green. Here we are at the lower falls.

My attractive husband about to jump in the falls...j/k.

Me at the falls

Father and son

We even saw a fawn on our hike. Good times.

On Thursdays we work in the Provo Temple. This particular day it was so beautiful. So many roses and such a sunny day.

On Thursday, June 16 we had a picnic at Rock Canyon Park. We obviously took this picture ourselves.

After the picnic we went to see Bridal Veil Falls. I guess we really like to look at waterfalls.

On Friday, June 17 we went to the Hill Air Force Base Museum. Greg is a little obsessed with airplanes. He likes airplanes as much as he likes classical music. We didn't have to read about any of the planes because Greg already knew everything and just told me!

Here we are in front of the Wright Flyer.

Greg's favorite: an F-16.

We had a lot of fun and it was totally free!!

That night we went to the tumbling gym with Greg's family.

Greg was pretty impressive.

Here's the crew: Malerie, Mom Burr, Dad Burr, Greg, Haley, Aubry, Jesse, and baby Joel. We know how to have a good time!

Good bye, Farrer Elementary!

On Friday, May 20, Greg and I went to the BYU Planetarium. Pretty fun and it only cost two dollars!! Doesn't this picture look so cool?

On Monday, May 23 we went to Ashley and Ben's for dinner. We also taught them how to play the game 'Ticket to Ride'. We know how to have a good time.

Last week I had 15 students in my class receive their Accelerated Reader Awards. They have to pass a series of comprehension tests to get their medal. This is a big deal when you're only in 1st grade. I was so proud of them. (There are only 14 in this picture because one of the students was absent).

There are some scary kids at our school...

The last day of school at Farrer Elementary. Next year we will be going to Provo Peaks Elementary. I had a really great class this year. By far the smartest group of kids I've ever taught.

Of course they insisted on doing a silly picture...

The last day at Farrer with the Farrer faculty. We will miss Farrer.

We went to Horseshoe Bend for Memorial Day weekend and my brother, Dillon gave a speech at his high school graduation. He's so grown up.

Spring Fever

On Friday, May 6, we went to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point, in Lehi, Utah. It was so beautiful... and VERY CROWDED!!! I guess everyone thought it would be a good idea to go to the Tulip Festival on such a beautiful spring day.

Happy Spring!

Gregory Ray Burr, B.A. in Music, Utah Valley University, April 2011. Graduation pic??

Just taking a walk...

I should have taken up modeling...jk.

This is my FAVORITE kind of tulip: pink with yellow tips. So pretty!

Tulip Paradise

Until next year, I guess.

I turned 27 last week. Greg made me an awesome dinner of wild rice, rolls, salad, corn, and of course chicken cordon bleu!!! It was awesome!

Then he gave me roses and made me a cookie cake to celebrate. Okay, okay, I'm old!

On Sunday Aubry and Jesse blessed their baby Joel. (Notice that me and Aubry are matching: black shirt and a pink skirt. Great minds think alike.)

Baby Joel with his favorite uncle.

Baby Joel with his favorite aunt... we're naturals, right??

Today Greg came to my class and brought his violin and viola.

The students LOVED playing them.

Greg is a good teacher.

It was a "moment in time"!
