A Utah Wedding

It is always a treat to travel and visit our families.

For weeks Emily kept saying, "I want to see Grumma and Grumpa."

Well, finally we drove up to Utah and she got to see them. Here is Grandpa and Grandma Burr with their grandkids: Joel, Emily, Leslie, and Meric.

Emily is a smart girl. Before our trip we had been clothes shopping for family pictures and Malerie's wedding, so then she started asking, "How many more days until Aunt Malerie gets married?"

Finally on August 4 it happened at the Oquirrh Mountain temple! Here is the happy couple with Rachel and Blake (the two who set them up).

Here is the lovely bride with her sisters: Erica, Rachel, Malerie, Aubry, and me.

Hanging out at the temple

This picture is proof that I must be the favorite parent. Just look at that face!

Now all of Greg's siblings are married. So fun! Congrats Malerie and Michael!!

Flake Family Fun

On Sunday, July 25 my entire family came to Horseshoe Bend, Idaho to welcome home my parents and my sister Cassidy from their missions. My parents served in Panama City and my sister served in San Fernando, California ASL speaking. It was so fun to see not only them, but every member of my family.

I have ten brothers and sisters. We hadn't all been together for a few years, so it was fun to be all together again...all 55 of us. We spent the next few days in Banks, Idaho for a family reunion.

My sister Sarah was nice enough to not only take the family picture with all 55 of us, but also each individual family. We have some pretty cute kids.

The following day we spent a lot of time horseback riding. The kids went first and then the adults. I think that was my favorite part of the reunion. It sure was beautiful up there.

You may be wondering why we have our jackets on. Well, it was actually in the 60's for some of the time we were there.

Emily loved having so many girl cousins to play with, but by far her favorite was...

Cheyenne! Too bad they decided to move to Indiana. :(

Leslie also has favorites...here she is with Uncle Joel and her cousin Able.

It was so nice to just sit and talk and spend some quality time together.

Here is my mom with the newest addition to the family. Leslie makes the total: 55 Flakes. ;)

The food was great and so was the company.

That night we had a family dance party. One of the dances was mom teaching us some Zumba moves....never a dull moment!

My girls quickly warmed up to my mom. Here they are taking a break from dancing.

I look so much like my mom. No wonder everyone always tells me that.

On the final day of the reunion we went on a bunch of hikes. Here is the group that Emily hiked with.

Here is the group that I hiked with. Man, it's so pretty in Idaho!

Two of my favorites

My little Les

After the hikes we ended the reunion playing volleyball. Although none of my siblings are particularly good at playing, we still managed to have a great time.

Here I am with all of my ten siblings and my parents. I love Cassidy's face in this picture...

After the reunion we headed to dad and mom's to go through some old boxes. These boxes contained things I had kept for years and years. Some dated back to elementary school. Although most of the stuff I just threw away, it was so fun to go through it all with Heather and Bethany and Greg. It made for a lot of laughs!

Here is Emily having popsicles with Paul and Bethany's kids.

The last day at mom and dad's we went on a hike with dad behind their house. It was pretty fun...sorry we are squinting!

I forgot to mention that while my parents were on their mission they celebrated 40 years of marriage. All of us 11 siblings decided to put our money together and buy them plane tickets to Hawaii. As of yesterday they are all set to go. We sure love them and are so happy they are finally home!

4th of July Weekend

On July 3 we went to a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. Emily was in heaven. Since she is only 3, there were only a few rides she could actually do... let's just say she rode that carousel more than once!

She couldn't even reach the pedals for this game, but she still had fun!

Leslie warmed up quickly to the other moms at the party.

This was Emily's reaction when Chuck E. Cheese came out to see the kids. Pretty cute.

What a fun party! Hey, I even had a good time. :)

My two girls on the 4th of July.

They are so cute!

This one is my all time favorite! It really shows their personalities...

On the 5th we drove up St. George and hung out with Grandpa and Grandma Burr.

They LOVED the hammock at Uncle Kyle's house.

Then we drove to Joseph, Utah for the Gunderson reunion. Emily had the time of her life playing with all of the kids...

While the adults worked!! j/k...we got to play too!

Our HOT Summer

It's becoming a Burr family tradition that every summer the a/c in our house and in our car need replaced...I guess that's what happens when you live in a place that for a quarter of the year it is over 100 degrees outside. We don't have the funds for a "real" pool, so we did the next best thing and bought a pool from K-Mart. Best part...it only cost $12. It's so fun that we can all fit in the pool and cool off! Don't you love our lawn mower in the background??

I know this may look like a Gatorade advertisement, but this is actually right after I ran the Recycled 10K Run with my friend Kim. Not only were the running shirts that they gave us recycled, but also the medals. I wasn't too happy when I crossed the finish line and got a medal that said "4th of July Independence Run 2013 1 Mile Run". Ha ha, I didn't train for a mile run, just sayin....

After running every morning together for a few months we finally decided to train for something, so we signed up to do this 10K. It was a super hot race (in the 80s when we started), without any shade, all on black pavement and I couldn't find my running shorts...but we did it!

The day after the race was Father's Day. We're so blessed to have such a great and cute guy in our lives. Here is Greg with his two daughters.

This is what Emily would look like if she wore glasses.

Here she is without glasses.

So cute...she fell asleep holding one of her toys.

Where is Leslie??
