Wednesday, August 22 was Emily's first day of 1st grade!
She was both nervous and excited, but she did great!
Leslie and Abby wanted to get their backpacks on too, even though they weren't going to school. Man, they are cute girls!
As my due date gets closer, I have been touched by people's kindness. My Aunt Dana brought us over dinner one night: soup, bread, and cookies!
I'm 36 weeks along in this picture.
I do my third trimester pregnancy workouts in the mornings and these two wanted to participate!
For FHE a couple of weeks ago, Greg taught the girls about the creation. He had them draw pictures of what was created on each day. I thought Emily's was pretty cute.
Especially what she drew for the 7th day...
On Wednesday, August 29 Greg's dad came into town so they could drive up to Stanley and hike to Goat Lake .
They were gone all day, but Greg said the hike was so beautiful!
It was so fun for them to hang out and spend some quality time together!
The hike also wore them out!
But I'm so glad they got to go!
On Saturday, September 1, the Burrs threw me a surprise baby shower in Twin Falls! It was pretty fun and we got some great stuff, including this awesome blanket that Mom Burr made.
I had a lot of helpers with opening up the presents!
Thanks so much for the wonderful gifts!!
Leslie, Abby, Ellie, and Nessa being cute.
Cousins playing with the boy toys.
Joel, Vanessa, Meric, and Emily
Shoshone Falls!!
A rainbow
The awesome cake!!
Thanks for the awesome baby shower, Burr family!
The following Wednesday, the Young Women in our ward threw me another baby shower. Well, I guess we are officially ready for this little guy to get here!!
2.5 weeks until my due date!! Ready or not...

The End of Summer
It has been a great summer! Tomorrow school starts, so I wanted to make sure to add our last month of summer in here. First, I'll start off with a couple pictures from the Burr reunion. Here is the Burr family at Grandpa and Grandma Burr's 60th Wedding Anniversary.
The Ken Burr Family, July 2018
August has been a fun month around here. It has been full of many days of playing and having fun. These girls are really going to miss Emily when she goes back to school tomorrow for the entire day.
One of the most stressful things that happened to us this month was our washing machine overflowing onto our dining room carpet. Thankfully we caught it all before we went to bed that night, but it took days to dry. With me being pregnant and all, Greg did most of the work on his own. He's a keeper.
At the beginning of this month, we took our kids over to the World Center for Birds of Prey. Our kids found it all so interesting. The bald eagle was definitely their favorite.
Emily really loved it!
Leslie and Emily
We always have the most pictures of Emily because she actually likes to get her picture taken.
Our three cuties!
Then we went on a little nature walk nearby and saw this awesome view of Boise.
The following weekend my sister Cassidy and her family stayed with us for a night. It was so nice to see them!
Our kids LOVED their baby, Rose!
Later that day they got to hang out with another cousin, Millie. This is all great preparation for what will happen next month!
Mom Burr came to hang out with us for a couple of days while Malerie and Michael looked for housing (they are moving here)! She really liked the Meridian Temple.
Emily by the flowers at the Meridian Temple.
The girls loved having grandma read them stories! They are always sad to see her leave.
Last weekend we took our kids to Roaring Springs. Emily had been begging all summer to go and so finally we went.
Emily impressed us by how many slides she went down. She didn't want to leave!
We got a lot of comments from people about how cute their towels were. It made it much easier to keep track of them!
The next day some women in the ward threw me a baby shower. It was so nice of them and I got some great baby boy stuff. We're grateful for the good friends we have here.
On Sunday my friend, Marissa was in town. She was headed back to Utah from McCall. Although her visit was short, we had a lot of laughs and good talks.
Friends since 2007
Our kids have had so much fun living next to these boys all summer. We call them the "Neighborhood Gang". Pretty cute kids! Good bye summer!

The Sawtooths
When we got home from our St. George trip, Greg cut Emily's hair. We thought it was pretty cute, but she said, "It makes me look like a completely different person!" She sounds like a teenager...
Leslie caught in the act...
Abby
Two sisters: Leslie and Abby

Ring around the Rosie---their favorite.
30 (weeks), flirty, and thriving...;-)
At my favorite place with my favorite guy. That's the Boise Temple, by the way.
On July 28, we went on a day trip to Stanely, Idaho. It's about 3 hours away from Boise, but the kids were pretty good in the car...as long as they got food. ;-)
We arrived at Stanley Lake around lunch time and ate (although the girls were too excited and not super hungry).
Emily and me by Stanley Lake
Greg and the girls at Stanley Lake
The girls got so wet playing in the water, but it was the perfect temperature. We all loved it!
Emily LOVED the sand.
Not a flattering picture of me, but everyone else looks good!
On our drive Greg kept saying, "It's so beautiful here. Wow!" He had been wanting to go there all summer and we finally made it up there!
Then we drove about 15 more minutes to Red Fish Lake. It was pretty crowded, but we managed to find the perfect spot to take our raft and play on the beach.
"Dad, can you help us build a sand castle?"
I think we found everyone's happy place!
Right before we left, we went on a little nature walk and saw a bald eagle. I guess you could say our trip was a success!
