Christmas Letter 2016

Dearest Family and Friends,

2016 has been a wonderful year for our family. We have spent some of the year in Nevada, Idaho, Utah, and even Montana. It has been great to see many family and friends this year and realize what matters the most. As we have reflected on this year, we are humbled by all of the wonderful things we have been blessed with. We have so much to be thankful for.

GREG- At the beginning of this year, Greg worked as an Educational Advisor at Nevada State High School in Las Vegas. He really enjoyed working with the juniors and seniors and felt very comfortable with his various responsibilities. After working there for a year and a half, we felt guided to take another job. At the beginning of April we moved our family to Boise, Idaho so that Greg could manage my brother's (Joel) house cleaning business. In the short 7 months Greg has worked there, he has learned so much. Greg currently serves in the elder's quorum presidency in our ward.

HALEY- It was a wild year for me. After living in Vegas for almost 5 years, we said good bye to our dear friends, packed up our house in 2 weeks, and moved to Boise, Idaho when I was 37 weeks pregnant. Somehow, when we got here everything fell into place with doctors and insurance. I gave birth to an adorable baby girl, Abigail Love on April 19. Once she was here, it was quite obvious that our family wasn't complete without her. She has brought our family so much joy. At the end of the summer I decided to take on a job teaching ESL to children in Beijing, China. It is only a few hours a week and all online. It has been wonderful to use my degree and also be at home with our three daughters. I currently serve as the Primary secretary in our ward.

EMILY- Emily completed her first year of Preschool in Las Vegas. She loved her class and adored her teacher, so it was hard for her to leave them. All summer long Emily enjoyed playing dress up, spending time with her sisters, drawing, and doing activities with me. She was more than excited to go to Pre-K this year with a wonderful woman that my mother attended high school with. She has had a great experience so far and is already beginning to read.

LESLIE- Leslie will be two years old in January. She has a smile to die for and is at such a cute stage. She loves her sisters and wants to do everything that Emily does. She is walking, running, climbing, and getting into everything. She can say a few words and makes sure that she gets her bananas every day.

ABBY- Abby was born in April and has been such a wonderful addition to our family. Greg always says, “The first two months of her life were the worst and now she is the sweetest baby.” She really is. She smiles constantly, loves her sisters, puts herself to sleep, and even sleeps through the night. She is a delight and we're so grateful to have her in our family.

We are so grateful for each of you this holiday season and for our Savior, Jesus Christ. We love this time of year when we can reflect and focus on the true meaning of Christmas. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

With Love,

The Burrs

Happy December!

December has been so magical this year with our three little girls. Here is our 4-year-old, Emily.

Here is our 23-month-old, Leslie. For some reason, she is always missing a sock...

Here is our 8-month-old, Abby. It's even more fun because they are all so cute!

For Thanksgiving this year, we went to West Jordan, Utah and spent it with the Burrs. Grandma Burr made some cute turkeys with all of the grandkids.

The next day all of the adults played a very intense game of broom hockey. Not many brooms had survived by the time we finished playing!

Emily tried on her aunts' old Snow White costume. She LOVED it and wanted to take it home!

We made a trip to the BYU Bookstore while we were in Utah. Belle was there reading books to kids, so we got a picture. I think I was more excited than Leslie!

We drove back to Boise Sunday afternoon. About ten minutes into the drive they were fast asleep.

Cute little Abby

On Thursday, December 1 our ward had a Service Day Kickoff activity tying quilts. Emily even learned how to do it!

The next day our stake put on a live nativity. There was a room full of dress up clothes for kids to try on. Emily loved the angel costume!

Emily warming herself by the fire after the live nativity.

On Saturday, December 3, Greg went with the Joel Flakes to get a Christmas tree.

Greg had a lot of fun and found a really good one.

Since we had already put up our artificial Christmas tree, Greg put the tree up at work. It looks nice!

On Saturday night we went to see the lights in downtown Caldwell. They were really cool. We only got one good picture unfortunately!

Emily is going to be an angel for our ward's nativity. She was very determined to make her own costume. She made it entirely out of paper. Pretty impressive!

 Sisters!

 Abby being cute!

On December 6 it finally snowed in Boise. Emily had been waiting for it to snow since we moved here in April. She was so excited! Leslie was too scared to walk in it!

Here are my girls making a Christmas craft with our good friends, the Wrights!

 Best buddies: Leslie and Violet.

Emily and Leslie on the day of Emily's Preschool Program. I just love those candy cane tights!

We hope you're having a great December!
