Bear World

On Wednesday, June 5, Emily went to her last day of 1st grade.

Ms. Carlston was a great teacher to Emily and she learned so much!

Good bye Victor Elementary!

We celebrated by going to the park in Driggs.

The following Friday we drove to Rexburg to go to Bear World.

The kids loved seeing bears, going to the petting zoo, and riding all of the fun rides.

It was a little overcast, but that was actually really nice because it wasn't crowded at all.

Greg's favorite part of Bear World were the bear cubs. He could have watched them all day.

Greg finally saw a grizzly bear!

There were so many bears in the park.

We drove in our van all around the park to see the bears three times!

It never really got old.

One of the workers told us that there were 74 bears in the park...

that's a lot!!

This truck is filled with people who are feeding the bears. They look like dogs or something.

We also got to see a moose really close.

Now I've seen a moose three times.

The kids loved the rides. Since there weren't very many people there, they rode each one like 4 times!!

Ha ha...I look HUGE next to my tiny children. It was a very fun day!

My little Spiderman

He's getting really big. As the lady at the grocery store said, "You've got SOME baby there!"

He'll turn 9 months old this week. We love our little guy.

We took Leslie to the eye doctor on Monday and turns out she's farsighted. She decided on these adorable glasses.

On Thursday and Friday we were in Utah hanging out with the Burrs. This is Joel (the oldest cousin) and Caleb (the youngest cousin) in matching pajamas.

Cousins: Joel, Emily, Meric, and Leslie. When it was time for us to drive home Leslie said, "Mom, I don't want to leave. I want to stay here forever." Pretty cute!

Yellowstone

In May and June we've had some really beautiful days outside. We've spent a lot of time at Sherman Park here in Victor and the kids have LOVED it! Here's Emily Mazel.

On Thursday, May 30, we took our kids on a hike in the Mike Harris campground about 5 minutes from our house. They loved being in nature and we all had a great time.

Leslie and Abby held hands the whole time. It was pretty cute.

Poor little Caleb had pink eye, but was a really good boy the entire hike.

We even got really close to a beautiful monarch butterfly.

On Friday, May 31, we took a day trip to Yellowstone.

The kids loved seeing Lewis Falls very soon after we entered the park.

3 friends

We tried to beat the crowds, but it was already getting pretty crowded at Yellowstone.

Our next stop was the West Thumb Geyser Basin.

We saw an elk.

The kids loved hearing the science behind everything from their very knowledgeable father.

After that we stopped at another waterfall and ate some lunch.

I really like waterfalls.

After lunch we drove to see Old Faithful. The anticipation was real, but totally worth it after we got to see it erupt!

We saw lots of bison while we drove through Yellowstone.

They were EVERYWHERE!

There's a coyote!

After Old Faithful we drove to see the Grand Prismatic Hot Spring.

It was really interesting and the kids loved seeing all the different colors.

Emily wrote a list of the animals we saw on our way and in Yellowstone. Pretty impressive list...even though we did not see any bears.

On our way home we made a stop to see Mesa Falls.

The waterfall is so impressive!

It's so fun to live close to so many beautiful places!
