Halloween is a fun time of year, especially when you have little kids. We all had a great time at the Halloween Carnival at the church!

Emily's crazy 2nd grade class
Last week Emily was the "Ram of the Week" in her class. Here she is with the principal at her school.
Since she was the Ram of the Week, we got to eat lunch with her at school.

November 17, 2019...Primary Program Sunday
Instead of yelling at my kids about the huge mess, I decided I'd laugh and take a picture! I think they got out every single book we own!
For FHE I taught the lesson on being thankful. I thought our turkey turned out really cute!
Leslie had such a fun day at Preschool today. Not only was it pajama day and they got to watch a movie, but she got to make a turkey hat and handprint. Cutest preschooler around!
The last weekend in October we spent in Utah. These girls love their cousin, Dean. I'm not so sure he returns the love though...
On Friday we took our kids to Temple Square. We wanted to make sure to go before all of the construction starts.
The weather turned out to be perfect.
The kids loved the Salt Lake Temple.
It was nice to go when there weren't really any crowds.
Everyone got to touch the temple...even Caleb!
Greg was a great tour guide!

Did you know that in the 1800's some of the Burrs colonized Burrville in southern Utah?? John Atlantic Burr (one of our ancestors) left an inscription on a rock that we wanted to go see.
To get to the inscription we drove down the Burr Trail.
Dad Burr, Greg, me, and Caleb all came along.
The Burr Trail was a dirt road that was very bumpy.
We were all loving it though because it was so beautiful!
Even little Caleb enjoyed it!
After driving on the dirt road for a while, we got to a point where we couldn't drive any further. So we got out and started our hike through the wilderness in search of the inscription.
The yellow leaves against the red rock made October the perfect time of year for this hike!

Greg and I really like hiking and little Caleb loves being outside, so we were all in our happy place.
There was no real path to get there...we mostly walked in a river bed.
Such breathtaking views of the red rocks and yellow leaves.
Caleb warmed up to Dad Burr on the hike!
We were starting to get closer.
We had to cross the Escalante River different three times to get there. The water was up to our thighs and very cold!
Once we spotted the inscription (Dad Burr found it first), we had to climb up to get to it.
The inscription says: "J.A. Burr 1891" for John Atlantic Burr. The "J" almost looks like an "O". That is the way some people wrote J's back then.
A couple of times during the hike I got nervous that we wouldn't be able to find it, but Greg never gave up. It was pretty cool to see it!
Greg carried Caleb the whole hike! He deserves a medal!

It was awesome and well worth the hike!
We never saw anyone else while we were hiking. It was so peaceful.
It's fun to find these hidden treasures.
