Christmas Letter 2021

Dearest Family and Friends,

As we have reflected on this year, we are humbled by all of the wonderful things we have been blessed with. It has been a great year and we have so much to be thankful for.

Greg (37)- Greg has worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car for four years now. Currently he works as a branch manager at the Boise Airport. He has learned a lot and is a very hard worker. Right now he also serves in the bishopric in our ward. Although it can be time consuming, he really enjoys serving and working with the youth. Since his job doesn’t involve music, he spends a lot of his free time playing instruments. He has collected several instruments over the last few months and loves to play them. A couple of years ago he developed an interest in astronomy. He likes to look at the stars, find planets, and look at the moon on his telescope. It’s a pretty fun activity for our entire family!

Haley (37)- The most important thing that happened to me this year was that we found out we were expecting baby #5! We are all very excited to welcome another baby girl to our family in April (or the end of March). We love girls and know Caleb will be okay with it eventually. Since January 1st I have been on a strict no dessert diet with some of my sisters. Although it has been good for my health, I am really looking forward to eating some of my favorite treats again next month! This summer we took our kids on a trip across the country to Arkansas to visit family. It was our first really long road trip with kids, but they did great and we made memories!

Emily (9)- Emily is our oldest and is in 4th grade this year. It has been a really good year for her because she got the same teacher as last year (whom she loved). She has also developed some wonderful friendships in her class. This year Emily finished reading The Book of Mormon and The Doctrine and Covenants for the first time. It was special because she worked so hard to achieve those goals. This year she took piano lessons from Greg, swim lessons at the YMCA, and played soccer. She is a very crafty and creative girl. It’s fun to have her in our family.

Leslie (6)- Leslie is in 1st grade this year. Although it was a hard adjustment going from half day Kindergarten to all day 1st grade, she loves it now and enjoys school. Right before the school year started, she lost her first tooth. She has lost several since then and has the cutest toothless smile. Leslie loves to ride her bike, jump on the trampoline, and color with her siblings. She has really blossomed in her reading this year as well. This year she took piano lessons from Greg, swim lessons at the YMCA, and played soccer. She is easy going and always quick to forgive others.

Abby (5)- Abby is in Kindergarten this year. She enjoys her teacher so much and says that she “never wants to leave her”. The highlight of every school day is when she sees her sisters on the playground or in the hallway. They love going to the same school! For one of Abby’s assignments she had to tell about a favorite family tradition. She told about how we go to the apple orchard every year. It is quite magical! This year Abby played on a soccer team for the first time. She improved a lot throughout the season and had so much fun. She is a sweet girl with a lot of spunk.

Caleb (3)- Caleb is a rambunctious 3-year-old. He is everything boy, but only has sisters. He is pretty obsessed with superheroes right now and has a different favorite every day. He loves the zoo and asks to go there frequently. He likes to jump off of things and run really fast. I often think, “I hope he doesn’t hurt himself.” Caleb is officially potty trained and we currently don’t have anyone in diapers! In October I got together with a couple of girls in our ward and we started a Preschool Co-op. It’s just a couple of days a week, but really perfect for Caleb. It has been so nice. We love having Caleb in our family. He’s adored by all of us.

We are thankful for our Savior, Jesus Christ and this time of year to reflect on His birth. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas!

Love,

Greg, Haley, Emily, Leslie, Abigail, and Caleb Burr
