School's Out!

Last week we finished off the school year. I organized a car parade for the graduating Young Women in our ward. It was so fun and the girls really felt loved!

On Friday, May 22, Emily finished her last day of 2nd grade. This Chromebook has become our friend the last two months while we've done distance learning.

Now that summer is officially here...the kids spend lots of time jumping on our trampoline!

The girls also started having tea parties outside.

We went to see Dad and Mom in Middleton and they took us on this fun little walk by the Boise River.

Caleb had fun throwing rocks in it!

The girls loved playing in the sand by the river.

On Memorial Day we went to visit the graves of my grandparents. This is my Grandpa Emery's grave.

Here is Grandma Emery's (she was actually buried on top of him, so they share a headstone).

We ran into my cousin Vaughn and his kids while we were there!

Then we went to Grandpa and Grandma Flake's grave. Dad and Mom loved sharing stories about their parents to our kids. It was a very special Memorial Day. One I will always remember.

That afternoon we took our kids on a hike to Elephant Rock Loop in the foothills behind Boise.

It was really hot, but the kids were in heaven playing on the huge rocks and sand.

"We HAVE to come back, Mom!"

Spring Time

On Saturday, May 9, we FINALLY got our trampoline. The kids LOVE it...especially Caleb!

The next day was Mother's Day. Greg and the girls surprised me with this awesome wreath that they made. I told them that I wanted a wreath for the door that could be hung up all year round. It turned out great. I love it, especially since my favorite people made it!

The girls ate some humongous grapes and looked so funny eating them. I had to take a picture!

This kid never stops being cute. He's almost 20 months old!

Since we aren't having Seminary graduation for the seniors in our stake, they asked each of the Young Women presidents to take a picture with a sign that says congrats. 2020 will be a year we'll all remember!

My sister Whitney and her family came to Idaho for a visit last week. Since they live in Houston, we don't get to see them very often. It was a fun time!

Whitney loves to cook and bake, so I lucked out that she was here for my 36th birthday! The cake was AMAZING by the way!

She also made me this awesome cutout of Idaho!

Emily's birthday card to me: "Rose are red, Tulips are too. Everyone loves a person like you!"

Our kids loved hanging out with their cousins: Emily and Darius.

Leslie and Maya

We put together a play set in dad and mom's backyard while they were here. Lets be honest, it was mostly Greg and Adam.

Almost the end product...they just needed the slide and swings.

On May 17th Emily turned 8!! She can't wait to get baptized once the coronavirus calms down!

Grandma Flake made her a scripture case that she LOVED!

Ready to blow out the candles!

She did it!!

Marching Right Along

We've been social distancing for almost two months now!

The kids are mostly getting along well and just have fun with each other.

Abby cracks Caleb up!

Emily attends her classroom google hangout every morning and then we spend about an hour doing the rest of her schoolwork. 2 weeks of school left!

I continue to do art projects with the kids. This is the one where you write a message in write crayon and then someone has to paint over it to see it. They REALLY liked that one.

I used to do this with my sisters all the time as a kid, so I thought I'd do it with my girls. I gave them options of things I could draw, and then they chose what they wanted.

Turns out I still draw about as well as I did in elementary school, but the girls had fun!

Last Sunday we went on a drive to see the temples in Boise and Meridian. Our van is so clean these days!

The Boise temple was all closed off, but we could still see the beautiful tulips!

I took this picture while sitting in the van. Pretty impressive, eh?

These kids have all become good friends through all of this and life keeps marching on!

His three older sisters take good care of him.

Happy boy!

Being outside is his favorite thing!

Friends!

He loves to throw these balls all over the place!

He's pretty good at finding them too!

Until next time!
